With Israel on the verge of expanding its military campaign in the Gaza Strip and blaming Hamas for the shortages of food there, Jeremy Bowen, the BBC’s international editor, asks what all this means for the million or so Palestinians who now face being displaced from their homes in Gaza City and the prospect of having to flee again.
